It was strange, sliding into this unfamiliar area all alone. But Bambi was a fearless young man, and as he stepped into the caved area for the first time, he spent more time with his head tilted up to the ceiling and his jaws slacked. It was so strange, the stone. He'd never seen anything like these caves before, but he liked them.
Absently, he navigated the halls, humming to himself as he folded his arms behind him. Clearly not looking where he was going, it wouldn't be long before the teenager bowled someone over. But for now he was content to stare at the walls and the ceiling like an awestruck toddler..

There wasn't only one person wandering around unfamiliar territory. A boy with reddish-brown hair stalked through the Barracks as well, marveling at all there was to see. It sure was interesting here! But how long were boring, random hallways going to entertain him? Not very long, it seemed. There weren't even all that many people around, since, well... you know. The whole VT thing and all. There weren't even many other Candidates around to prank, which was depressing. And booooring.
He ran a hand along the walls as he walked, feeling the texture. It was boring, too. All the walls felt the same! There really weren't any other Candidates for him to bother, either.... most of the rooms he poked his head in were empty. He'd lived in caves his whole life... so this really wasn't anything new to him. It'd been interesting for the first few minutes... but now he was bored again. Keveri gave an exaggerated sigh and stretched his arms up. Then he relaxed. Well, that had waste a few seconds! What could he do now?
As he was pondering what he could do next... he wasn't paying attention where he was going either, and walked straight into Bambi. Or maybe Bambi had walked straight into him. Or maybe it was just a mix of both their inattentive selves that had made them walk into each other. Either way, it definitely caught Keveri off guard. And at first, he tensed. Ohnoohnoohno... what if this person wanted to fight him?! He'd better start off by apologizing.
"I'msorryI'msorryI'msorry!" he flailed about, attempting to untangle himself from the other and get far away. What if this guy wanted to beat him up?! Keveri was ridiculously bad at fighting, even if he constantly boasted about his skills. He was bright red with embarrassment and slight panic. This was humiliating! He'd walked right into someone! And they were totally going to kill him! What a great way to meet someone at this stupid Weyr, huh?!

As his eyes were scanning the stone, Bambi didn't even hear the sound of another human approaching. In fact, by the time he realized he wasn't alone, he was already on the ground with the other boy on top of him. Big brown eyes wide with surprise looked straight at the smaller teen, but rather than anger of even shock, his mouth opened with an immediate laugh.
"Oh, Faranth!" He chirruped cheerfully, grinning happily up at the other, "We ran smack dab into each other, didn't we?" He laughed again and tilted his head to the side, lifting his arms to fold them behind his head. The stone felt good against his back, and the other wasn't an uncomfortable wait.
Chuckling merrily, he paused a moment, then lifted a hand, grinning toothily, "My name's Bambi! What's yours?"

The laugh took Keveri more off-guard than he already had been. Huh? Laughing? It didn't even sound like an evil laugh. Keveri frowned, thinking. Was he just trying to psych him out? And then beat him up? No... he didn't seem like it. He had a kind face. Or so Keveri figured, though he always thought he was a pretty good judge of other people. But grinning so happily after being knocked to the ground so violently...? And with Keveri still on top of him...?
Weird. It was weird! But it was better than him getting angry, and Keveri had to smile. This Bambi guy's smile was definitely contagious. "Um. Yeah." he said stupidly, his face red when he realized that... oh, oops, he was still on top of him. He tried to keep his face from getting any redder and moved off of the other boy, thoroughly embarrassed. He rubbed the back of his head in an attempt to seem less... well, less awkward. "Y-yeah. We did, huh? Too distracted, I guess," he replied. This boy had such a... happy nature? that Keveri couldn't help but smile along with him. He looked so relaxed, too... his face wasn't red at all. He had to envy that.
"I'm Keveri," he said with a grin, getting to his feet. He held out a hand to the other, an unspoken offering to help him stand up as well. "But, uh. Sorry about that. Kind of a bad first impression, you know?" he laughed nervously, but the other didn't seem too mad at him. But he was odd... most people that get knocked over by some random boy were at least a little angry about it. Or even frantic, like Keveri was. But Bambi wasn't either of them. It was weird.

Bambi just kept on smiling, his expression becoming even more cheerful--if possible--when he realized that the other was blushing. He himself never to blush, or at least he'd never told him he did. "You're cute when you blush." He chirped after a moment, biting his bottom lip thoughtfully, "Ya know, blushing in general is cute, but you look really cute."
He glanced again up to the ceiling, not noticing when the other stood. "Oh yeah--I'm sorry. I've never seen caves like this, I was a bi--" He cut himself off when a hand was thrust into his face, and he blinked happily, grabbing the other's hand. He got to his feet easily and brushed himself off, shaking his head. "No, it wasn't your fault." He replied quickly, glancing at the other, "As for impressions...I beg to differ! I think stumbling over each other is a great way to say hello!"

The other's words were really starting to catch Keveri more and more off-guard. He paused, staring blankly at Bambi at the mention of how... cute he was. "H-huh? What?" he stammered uselessly, trying to wonder just why this boy had even thought to mention that. Wasn't that weird? Abnormal?! Boys didn't blush, and if they did, they... hid it, or something. Or didn't point out embarrassing things like that. It was weird! And it only made him get even more embarrassed and blush even redder. "H-hey man, don't say things like that, you know? People might get the wrong idea!" he said with what he hoped was something of an easy-going laugh.
He helped the other to his feet and tried to stop himself from blushing so much. But... really? No one had ever mentioned that before. Keveri knew he got embarrassed easily, he was just easily flustered, really, but no one had ever actually said anything before. "Y-you think so?" he laughed, rubbing behind his head again, "Well I guess we probably would have just passed right by each other if we hadn't, so you're right." He'd been about to say more, but a fluttering from behind him interupted his thoughts.
A white Fisher had flown up and settled herself elegantly on his shoulder. "Oh, there you are, Rin. I wondered where you'd flown off to," he said cheerfully, stroking her feathers as she settled. He gave an apologetic smile to Bambi. "Um, sorry. This is my Fisher, Rin. She's pretty... um, cool..." he said, sounding a bit dismissive. Rin poked at the side of his head, annoyed at the lack of attention. "Hey... cut that out, I'm talking," he scolded her, and then quickly turned his attention back to Bambi as though nothing had even happened.
"Oh! You said you've never been in a cave before?" His thoughts were pretty much flying all over the place, and his interest to learn more about Bambi overshadowed his need to explain the Fisher's presence, "Where did you used to live, then?" he asked, and a small part of him wondered if this was maybe too personal... but, hey, whatever, right? He wanted to know things about this boy... only because he was kind of interesting. Where did someone grow up to get such a happy, easygoing personality like that? ...he also faintly wondered if maybe he was talking a bit too much... but hey, he really couldn't help that.

Cheerful eyes grew even happier as the boy laughed and tilted his head, lifting a brow, "What do you mean? What would they say?" He asked with a chirp, grinning ear to ear, "I don't see anything wrong with saying someone's cute. Its true." A brimming smile and the teenager was up on his feet, humming as he righted himself completely. But the moment the fisher came into the picture, Bambi was full attention.
"You have a fisher?!" Like an excited holdbrat seeing his first dragon, Bambi popped into the other's space bubble, holding himself back only for the sake of the flier as he leaned in slightly, his gaze awe-filled and adoring. "She's gorgeous." He crooned, clicking gently to her, "I'd love a fisher some day--they're such amazing creatures. And such brilliant fishers too! I love watching them dive." Laughing, he looked up at the other from the tops of his eyes, not moving his head as he smiled at Keveri. "I haven't the foggiest idea!"
Laughing, he sat back and straightened to his full height, absently bouncing on his heels, "Well, I mean, I came from the ocean...but I don't remember where I was from. I was told I was from some small place across the sea--but I don't have any memories of it...so I guess I'm pretty much from Hope Hold." He hummed softly, his eyes still wandering to Rin, "But there aren't any caves like this there. These are fantastic!"

Bambi's words only made Keveri blush deeper, but he tried to get a hold of himself. Boys didn't just blush at stupid comments like that. He wasn't cute! Well, he might be a little... but this boy didn't have to point that out. It only made him even more embarrassed. And it made him blush more! So it was just a big circle and Keveri really didn't like it. "They'd... they'd be all like.... well you two... are..." he blushed deeper and waved his hands dismissively, "Haha, whatever. It doesn't matter, you know? Just two guys! It's, um, totally okay to call each other cute," he said, realizing the futality of trying to explain it.
Rin moved around Keveri's shoulder to look closer at Bambi, seeing as the other boy seemed a lot more interested in her than Keveri was. Keveri was too busy trying not to awkwardly blush in embarrassment at the other boy going so close to him. He averted his eyes, and then lifted the white fisher off his shoulder and held her out to him. "Um... do you want to hold her, or something? She is really good at fishing! She's the best," he said with a confident grin. He loved Rin... she was just a bit aloof, sometimes.
He listened intently to the other's story, tilting his head to the side in confusion. He didn't remember where he was from..? That was kind of sad. "Oh... I see. That's... kind of sad, you know? Not knowing where you're from...." he trailed off, feeling a little uncomfortable with such a topic. He wasn't really the best with other people in general. "Oh, yeah! Caves! I like the rivers more, though. The caves feel kind of, um, constricting?" he said, thinking. Rin gave a soft coo at Bambi. She liked him.

"I don't see why it wouldn't be." With a blinding smile, Bambi tilted his head to the side, blinking softly as he folded his arms behind his back and laughed lightly, "You're cute, so why shouldn't I say so? If I didn't I'd be lying, and that's bad, isn't it?" Seemingly trying to convince the other to see his way while trying to figure out why any other way would be correct, the strange young man gave a soft hum and tilted his head back, staring quizzically up at the stone ceiling. Easily distracted, he quickly discovered himself curiously inspecting the lines and cracks, observing the strains of differing rock thoughtfully..only to snap back into attention with the arrival of the fisher.
Humming, he moved to and fro to inspect the gorgeous animal, but paused at the other's offer, his entire face lighting up eagerly. "You don't mind? She won't mind either, will she?" Biting his bottom lip, he offered his wrist to the bird, clucking very softly as he offered his other hand for some attention, running his fingers gently down her feathers. "She's so pretty..." He mumbled, slightly off in his own little world, "I'd like to have a fisher one day. I love the sea so much, it would be great to have something that loves it as much as me." He gave a soft whistle, winking at Rin, "You be sure to let me know if you find any eggs, little flier!"
Laughing, he looked back to Keveri, happy as a clam for a moment, only to frown subtly, tilting his head. "It is?" He hmed thoughtfully, glancing up, and worked his jaw absently, "...it doesn't feel sad to me. Feels normal. I mean....I've never known anything but not knowing...so..it doesn't bother me." He grinned, cheerful again, and glanced down, smiling at Rin. "You're such a pretty speaker too." He chirruped, looking up at Keveri. "Oh I love rivers. There are fish in them! But caves...I don't know. They feel very familiar to me--like a safezone." He smiled distantly, almost as though he were thinking back, but both knew he couldn't be. "The ocean and caves. They feel nice."
