Medusa smirked as she ducked Ipgenia's friendly swat. Good to know that she had come to realize a hand raised didn't mean it was going to hit her, nor that a hand swung towards her meant she had to take the hit, or that, whether or not in connected, the hand was raised in anger. Sometimes they could be raised in minor annoyance, like right now.
"Genia, it's not like I don't know the exact count of our food supplies. I've been watching them still, even if I stepped down. Not going to completely abandon what I've worked at doing for so long, even if I'm only a Candidate now. I know this place near better than anyone, even a few of the riders! So don't get mad at me for taking one redfruit; you know C'fael wants me to get all the food I can. Or if you have to, take it from K'nan's portions, he won't miss it." The older woman took a moment to roll her eyes at the gold-skinned girl's cheeky words, then went back to work. She knew Medusa was right.
The young woman had been here from the first, with the riders. Knew all of them, had been their Headwoman at the beginning - in short, she was a veritable staple at the Weyr. Not that she could do no wrong; she just always had an answer for why she did things, even things that seemed odd or rude to the newcomers. They hadn't been here in the beginning, when it had been even worse, (or better, depending on one's view) than it was now. Almond-eyes glinted as Medusa bit into the redfruit, enjoying the sweet taste.
She hopped up on one of the tables, legs swinging. C'fael was so proud of her for coming so far with everything! She loved her 'brother', more than anyone. Hmmm. Be lunch soon, have to make sure no one had spoiled the stew again. But after she finished this delicious redfruit.[/size]
