Roleplay Rules
1. First and foremost: Absolutely NO powerplaying. That means you can only control YOUR OWN characters. Do not make any other characters make any actions or thoughts. Their players won't like you for it. If you've been roleplaying for an amount of time before this, you probably know this as one of the major roleplaying sins, but for those who don't... yeah. Just don't try it.
2. Leave big, important plots to the staff. Relationship plots are fine. Prank plots are fine. Little things that don't affect the entire world are all good. However, you CANNOT suddenly introduce a zombie outbreak to The Weyr or Hope Hold. That's ridiculous. Things like that are for the staff to make happen, alright?
3. Do not harm another character (this includes killing them) without their player's permission. Either leave a blow open-ended (e.g., Bob swung a punch at Joe), allowing the player of the other character to decide whether Joe got hurt or not, or just ask the player if they'd let you harm a character. It doesn't take long, just PM them or ask them in the cbox. That way we avoid ugly disputes and having to delete and rewrite RP posts, yay.
4. Please don't take anything personally! If someone's character doesn't like your character, it doesn't mean the player doesn't like you! We're all nice. However, if you suspect someone is bullying you through their characters, let a staff member know. We'll take a peek into it.
5. There is a rough minimum word count of 200-300 words. Please strive towards having all of your posts substantial and interesting. If you're posting in an important thread, like a Flight or Hatching, length and content becomes more important. Anyways, basically what we're trying to do is make sure no one EVER posts one-liners. One-liners are the spawn of the devil.
6. When speaking OOC (Out of Character) use parenthesis or brackets or anything that will clearly mark it as OOC. e.g., ((This is me not in character.)) or (ooc: This is me not in character.))
7. Proper spelling, punctuation and grammar, please. I think you've all had classes for that.
8. Again: have fun. Duh. [/blockquote]
